Custom orthotics in Port St. Lucie

A custom orthotic is a shoe insert made from a scan of your feet. It can help some heel and arch pain, but a store insert is sometimes enough.

Custom or store bought?

Store inserts help many people and cost much less, so we often suggest one first. A custom orthotic makes sense when your foot shape, your activity or a problem that keeps coming back needs more support.

How they are made

A patient's bare foot rests on a foot scanner plate in the clinic

The doctor examines your feet and how you walk, then takes a 3D scan of each foot. A lab builds the orthotics to the doctor's prescription, and you come back for a fitting.

Getting used to them

Most people wear them a few hours the first day and add time each day. Bring them to a follow-up visit so we can adjust anything that rubs.

Questions about custom orthotics

Does insurance cover custom orthotics?

Some plans do and many do not. We check your plan and tell you the price before we take a scan.

Will they fit in all my shoes?

Most fit in athletic and walking shoes. We can make a slimmer pair for dress shoes.
